frequently asked questions

When you come to the trial, bring photos of makeup + hair styles you like. Have fun + start pinning on Pinterest and Instagram to find an inspiration look you would like to build off of. Bringing photos with you will open the conversation between us, so we can understand what makeup + hair look you are trying to achieve on your wedding day.

You're also going to want to bring a lip color you often wear with you the day of your trial, that way we can get a good sense of what colors you’re comfortable wearing. After our trial run, we will figure out which color you like best and we will recommend you buy that color we used, for the day of your wedding so you can reapply all night.

The day of your trial it is also recommended to wear an ivory or white top, so we can see how the makeup + hair would look against the color of your dress.

Feel free to bring any hair pieces and your veil.

With your phone, we can take before/after photos and we can see how your finished makeup look photographs.

A trial with us is typically 1.5 hour, that way we have enough time to consult, figure out and apply the perfect look for you, come up with a good skincare routine for you, as well as go over details for the day of the wedding. The most important thing about your makeup trial is to sit back and have fun!

When is payment due?

Once you submit your inquiry, you will receive a reply from our administrative team within 24-48 hours. From there, our team will work to confirm availability for your big day! Once availability is confirmed, we will support you with the next steps in confirming your booking. To secure your booking, we require the appropriate documentation to be completed, as well as payment of a non-refundable booking fee. Once booked, you will have access to your artists/stylists, as well as our administrative team for any support you may need along the way as we strive to ensure this is a peaceful and enjoyable experience for all of our brides.

What is the booking process like?

Yes, our team is happy to travel to your venue! The travel fee is $1 per mile, one way, and is calculated from our team studio in Beacon, NY. Please kindly note, if the getting ready location is 2+ hours away from our team studio in Beacon, NY, we would require the booking party to secure hotel accommodations for the evening before the wedding to ensure there are no gaps or delays the morning of the wedding. This would be in addition to our travel fee. For destination weddings, we require hotel, ubers/taxi services as well as airfare to be covered.

Do you travel for events and if so, how much is the travel fee?

Because of our high demand our schedules do not allow us room to book trials prior to booking. Our team is extremely busy, especially when wedding season is in full swing, and as such, coordinating dates and times to schedule trials can be quite difficult and delays the booking process significantly. Since our bookings are on a first come, first serve basis, we are unable to hold dates without the booking process being formally completed and as such, waiting months for a trial date puts you in jeopardy of losing your wedding date.

Once a bride is formally booked, a trial is set up prior to the wedding date where the bride is given ample time, attention and care with the team to ensure their desired style and look is created. If a bride is unhappy with their final look, the team will ensure they work with the bride to create a look they love so that when the wedding day arrives they are nothing but happy.

Can I schedule a trial prior to booking?

To secure your booking, we require a booking fee payment. The booking fee is an independent, one time non-refundable fee which is paid at the time of booking to secure the booking, as well as secure all services from time of booking through the wedding day. This fee does not go towards the final invoice price. Final payment for services is due on the day of the wedding. Instructions around this are provided in advance for your reference so you may have time to prepare the amount due for services rendered.

How should I prepare for my trial?

When is my final headcount due?

We ask our brides to do their best to complete the contract with the information known at the time of booking, to ensure we are adequately prepared for your wedding day needs. However, we understand things may change between the time of booking and the big day and as such, we reconfirm everything needed for the big day approximately 60 days in advance.

Do you provide us with a timeline?

As counterintuitive as it may sound, we actually prefer not to have a rigid timeline the morning of your wedding. This allows for the team to quickly move from one person to the next, without needing to wait for the next person to arrive. Once we confirm a start time, we ask that everyone be on site at that start time so that our team can start promptly and move from one person to the next without any delays in timing! The team members will assess the needs of the group upon arrival and then from there, determine who will go when. We will schedule our arrival time, our start time and our end time together with the planner and photographer.

Yes, our team has extensive experience and training working with brides of all different ethnicities, skin types and hair types. We are trained to work with all skin/hair tones, textures and types.

Do you have experience working with various races, ethnicities, hair types and skin types?

That is not a problem at all! We ask our brides to provide the most up to date information known at the time of booking, however, we understand things may change between the time of booking to the wedding day. As such, we will reach out closer to the wedding date to confirm the final headcount and additional details.

What if I do not know the final headcount at the time of booking?

Our team is well trained and experienced in working with larger parties efficiently and successfully. The need for an assistant and/or additional artists/stylists is dependent on your headcount and timing, as well as which team members we have available for your date. In the event an assistant and/or additional team member is needed, we will ensure this is secured for your big day.

I have a large group, will you need to bring an assistant?

I have a wedding planner, will you work with them too?

Our team is well acquainted with many planners and we love having the opportunity to collaborate. Our shared goal is to ensure everything is as smooth as possible from start to finish for our brides and working alongside wedding planners is something we enjoy very much!

I am doing a first look, will I need to touch up during the day?

Our team is well trained to ensure that your hair + makeup look is set to last all day and night! After eating, drinking and kissing, you will need to reapply your lipstick. We will recommend a color for you to buy during your trial, so that on the wedding day, your lipstick will be with you. Everything else will stay in place throughout the evening. If you want our team to stay on site for touch ups, we can absolutely plan to do so for an added fee starting at $200/hr.
